Planet Conscious.

Hey - this is my first ‘Conversation with Myself’ a stylish platform to ramble to you guys about pretty much anything, it’s basically my current thoughts and ideas explained.

It was all the way back in July 2020 that the idea was created. My aim is to design beautifully reimagined, handcrafted pieces of luxury furniture while being as planet conscious as I can, avoiding unnecessary waste, starting the design process with pre-loved objects that I can reimagine into re-loveable pieces of furniture. There’s also something so special about being able to say, I made that, from this, for you! What an exciting time… I did of course take a masterclass in upholstery and I bring my skills to you now as Rex Design Room.

“Breathing new life into these objects is so important”

Breathing new life into objects and restoring them beyond their former beauty in a reimagined way. The creations inspired by fashion, my love of design, colour and print. Truly unique ideas, sketched in my mind and then brought to life. This is not up-cycling, this is skilled handcrafted design, fully reupholstered bringing the objects back to life. For example a dull brown chair reimagined into a hot pink velvet cosmopolitan club chair. To start I create a perfect shape and base for the reinvention of a chair by customising the frame to my own design specification, then adding sublime luxury and contemporary design detail, before covering in with a decadent coloured fabric - its a kind of fabulous reincarnation.

It was so important to me that this first collection had all the integrity behind my ideas and what Rex Design Room stands for - I’d spent too much time in the fast paced world, that I had out grown way before lockdown and actually taking it all a bit slower was exactly what I needed and wanted, so no wonder that’s what our planet needs too!

From this, the Dopamine collection was created… a heavy dose of guilt free pleasure.
