Ooh that’s Thrifty.

Recycling is great for the planet we all know that, and daily we filter through rubbish to separate the recyclables from the waste - we are programmed to do it - plugged into the environmental benefits of household recycling. It makes us feel good, we are doing our little bit, and a little bit by everyone is enough.

“what about recycling your entire household”

But what about recycling your entire household, a fresh take on Interior Design, i’m talking about curating your current content into a fresh new look, you’ve already got everything you need haven’t you? Changing your furniture doesn’t need to cost the earth, in fact it could save it. Curate yourself a new look. Breathing new life into objects is so important, giving something a new purpose. We’ve all heard of the term ‘Capsule Wardrobe’ so let’s capsule our homes and re:style it in a re:cycled way.

“Reinvention is a forever concept”

Reinvention is a forever concept, we reinvent ourselves 4 times a year as we transition between the seasons - claiming “Green will be my colour of the Summer” or “I’m only wearing monochromatic looks this Winter” yet our homes remain stagnant for years, originally bang on trend and then slowly but surely they go out of fashion.

There’s something about reusing an item that gives the transformation more satisfaction. Reimagining something you once loved and adored is a simple way to update your interior style and re:cycle, re:use and re:love your furniture. Careful curation is key to any homes look and feel. I offer a re:cycle Interior Design service, a fresh take on Interior Design, room styling and home re:invention.

I get it, you want a new style, but what if that new lust list item was nestled in your home amongst all of the content, save it from waste, create something unique, reclaim the beauty of the objects you once adored. My home is always on the move - upstairs brought downstairs and vice versa, its such a good way to refresh your space, update your daily view and it gives you the feeling of new.

Re-upholstery, it’s not ground breaking I know, it can become the florals of Spring if you want it to. But reclaiming the inner and outer charm, items reimagined and restored beyond their original beauty. Modernising vintage into contemporary styles that will drop so easily into any modern home and instantly enhance it.

“thrifters and fashion lovers”

Donations of dated clothes head off to the Charity shop to be snapped up by thrifters and fashion lovers alike. Parting with clothes seems so easy and its happily recycled over and over again, modern vintage mixed in with classics of the 70s that fit so naturally together railed up into collections in vintage stores all over the world.

Change your view on second hand, as the world of Interior Design is often so focused on the expensive, the new and the most up to date design concepts. But what about all the things you already own - what’s wrong with them. Your current sofa could become your new schemes best supporting act… it can become anything you want it to be. Plus - we can save items from waste, one chair at a time, so that good too, isn’t it?
